Development Cycle For Symptoms Of Pregnancy

Throughout the nine months and the entire pregnancy cycle, your body can manifest different symptoms of pregnancy. Learning about them will help you better understand the processes that your body goes through with each stages of pregnancy.

Determining Symptoms of Pregnancy

During pregnancy, the body undergoes natural processes but the extent of the body changes that a woman has to go though differ largely. Some experience uncomplicated pregnancies that enable them to follow their normal routines up until the time of delivery. While others suffer more difficulty and require proper care and attention to ensure the health of both child and mother.

Aside from the physical changes and symptoms of pregnancy, there are also a few emotional conditions that are manifested such as depression, anxiety, and constant mood swings. Experts suggest that each woman keep a pregnancy journal that will enable them to keep track of the different stages of pregnancy and the corresponding bodily changes that can be expected as a result of the child’s development inside her womb.

First Trimester

The first trimester marks the earliest stages of the fetal development. Hence, the symptoms of pregnancy at this point are a bit difficult to detect. However, there are some general symptoms that are good indicator that a woman is positive for pregnancy. The first trimester covers the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

At this point, your period cycle has long been gone. But during the first week, some women might experience light period, which is related to a symptom known as implantation bleeding. A queasy feeling on your stomach is also evident that could cause the urge to vomit and typically happens in the morning. Hence, the term morning sickness.

The breasts also tend to become a bit swollen and tender, with increased sensitivity on the nipples and its surrounding areas. Other related symptoms include frequent urination, feeling of extreme exhaustion, constipation, and severe mood swings.

Second Trimester

The second trimester spans week 13 to 26 of your pregnancy. During this stage of your pregnancy, the symptoms are much more evident and you begin to experience more gradual changes in the body. In fact, you can already feel the movement of the fetus inside your body.

Weight gain is an obvious symptom since you need to increase your food intake to cope with the fetus’ demand for food and other necessary nutrients. Dryness of your skin, especially around your stomach, is another condition resulting from the stretching of the skin in that area of the body.

From merely swollen breasts, it now has gone much bigger and colostrum (thin fluid) might come out from your nipples. Other common symptoms of pregnancy during the second trimester include edema, formation of dark lines around your navel, and varicose veins.

Third Trimester

This serves as the last stretch of your pregnancy leading up to the date of your delivery. You can no longer just feel the movement of the fetus inside your stomach, but it can often be visible from the surface of your skin. Women in their last trimester of pregnancy often experience shortness of breath as the bulging stomach tends to apply pressure against your lungs.

Other symptoms of pregnancy leading include backaches, painless contractions, and difference in your walking manner.
